Sports Premium Information

PE Grant - Academic Year 2015/2016
Trenance Learning Academy received £9,175 for the academic year 2015/2016.   This was used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of pupils at Trenance Learning Academy and to encourage the development of  healthy, active lifestyles.  For further reading please refer to the Primary Sports Funding Statement (PDF download) below.  Summary points are as follows:
 
Focuses for the year included:
Fully embed REAL PE into the curriculum
Continue to sustain and add to the in-school PE competitions 
Continue to pay into the Newquay Cluster Primary Sports Network
Provide ongoing PE training for staff
Develop sports tournaments within the Trust such as the Rugby tournament in the Autumn Term 2015
Working towards achieving the Youth Sports Trust Gold Award
 
Impact:
Every child has swimming lessons
Regenerated Sports Days for KS1 with a focus on fundamental skills, implementing the House Team system and providing children with sporting activities they want
Achieving the Youth Sports Trust Silver Award for PE provision
Introducing a PE scheme of work with an assessment tool to clearly measure progress of the children 
Offering many more in-school opportunities for the children through football tournaments, rugby tournaments and fundamental skills days
Offering a diverse range of after school sports clubs
Enable coaches to work alongside teacher in many areas of the PE curriculum including swimming and tennis and expert facilitator delivering REAL PE as model for the teaching staff
